Day Six - Seven: Arrival in Rome!

This little Italian boy has the right idea. . .

On Friday afternoon, we started out in Baltimore and headed out for NewarkTwenty-three people were sardined into a speeding vehicle (including a ton of luggage!) and began our long journey toward Italy. The flight was great, but few people got very good sleep. We arrived in Rome around 12:30 PM (6:30 AM, EST). This little boy was taking a nap while we waited for our luggage to arrive in baggage claim!

After a four-hour bus ride, we arrived at the Institute where we are staying in Stabia. Many of us are really tired, but we are in good spirits. Here is the view of Mt. Vesuvius from our dorm room. Wow, what a sight.

Mount Vesuvius sits on the horizon while ships float peacefully in the Bay of Naples below.
At 7:00 PM, church bells pealed from a church tower nearby.
