Day Three: Archaeology of Roman Italy

Dr. Bugh, a history professor from Virginia Tech, spoke about the archeology of Rome.

Today was similar to yesterday. Another visiting professor spoke about some of the archaeological sites we will be visiting in Italy. He gave us insights into the significance of the sites. He also told us about Etruscan tombs located north of present-day Rome. The only information we know about the Etruscans is what wall paintings are located in their remaining tombs. Even ways of decoding their language is unknown to today's scholars. Most people who study the Etruscans have to hypothesize based on pictorial and archaeological evidence alone.

Long, busy, overwhelming data day. . . good night, all.
